A Galveston County woman has filed a lawsuit against the city of Galveston, Allied Waste, and Republic Waste Services of Texas for injuries suffered when she fell near the parking lot of the defendants facilities.

Lisa Collins claims that she was delivering phone books to the facility when she slipped and fell on a muddy slope while trying to get to the building. The fall left Collins with a fractured ankle and an injured shoulder.

Plaintiffs allege that the parking lot was in poor shape and the defendants are at fault for the accident for failing to improve the alleged poor condition of the parking lot and failing to provide the plaintiff of an advanced warning of the poor condition.

The case has been to Galveston County 212th District Court Judge Susan Criss.
