Today a former nursing home employee became the 12th person to admit neglecting residents at the Jennifer Matthew Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, in Rochester, NY. The certified nurse’s assistant plead guilty in court to charges of willful violation of health laws and falsifying records in regards to the elderly patient with dementia.

In all there were 14 employees were charged in the case and all that have appeared in court have admitted neglect. The other two are set to appear in court on September 4th.

An investigation into the neglect by the state Attorney General’s Office included placing a hidden camera in the patient’s room. Those who have pleaded guilty admitted that they didn’t turn the patient regularly, allowed him to lie in his own waste, and didn’t give him adequate food or water.
