Alabama seaman, Leslie Vincent Tapia has filed a lawsuit against his employer seeking $75,000 for injuries he claims were sustained while on the job.
The lawsuit accuses the Supreme Offshore Services Inc. of failing to provide him with proper equipment to perform his duties safely while on board the company’s ship, the Warren Thomas.
Tapia claims that while working as engineer aboard the vessel, he suffered severely debilitating injuries while cleaning the starboard engine.
The lawsuit, filed last week in Galveston, claims that the Warren Thomas was not seaworthy and “that nothing the plaintiff did or failed to do caused, or in any way contributed to his injuries.”
